Physician therapist can advise here, preventive and accompanying treat in a timely manner. However, that is unfortunately still no business as usual for dancers. In contrast to high-ranking, for which medical and therapeutic support is granted for a long time, dancers always above all as an artist are perceived. Here, hit the high performance aspect as well as the urgency of regeneration slightly out of sight. Dancers are often left to themselves, their pressure to succeed and the expectation of pressure from outside. An organization committed to in order to change this situation, in the long term, which combines the requests of dance and medicine.

Dance medicine Germany e. V., short tamed, is for years committed to, to create an awareness for the daily reality of the dancers and to improve the medical therapeutic care. That’s why is tamed as well to the general public as to the dance world. The Organization, that has shaped the concept of dance medicine, would like to inform about the situation of dancers. The primary concern of tamed is the health of dancers.

Only when the enormous pressures and risks to which daily exposure to dancers are aware of themselves and their audience, their health can be stored permanently and at an early stage. Together with the Dance Lab 21, tamed therefore organized an afternoon of advice for dancers of all dance divisions at Mousonturm Frankfurt. An interdisciplinary team of dance physicians, therapists and sports scientists advising on topics related to dance technique, dance injuries and alternative training methods and offered further support and assistance to the participants. The advice afternoon headed by Anja Hauschild, Board member of tamed e. V. and even trained stage dancer, held for the first time on September 7, 2011 and is planned as a regular series of events. Involvement ranges from tamed but far beyond consulting, education and Training also. It includes the organisation of the Congress of dance medicine and the care of doctors and therapist network as well as the promotion of research and the cooperation with international dance-medical organizations. Many well-known dancers and teachers support the work of tamed and are active for this largest German-speaking network of dance medicine. The Tanzlabor_21 / dance base Frankfurt_Rhein_Main is realized by the Kunstlerhaus Mousonturm with the Hochschule fur Musik und darstellende Kunst Frankfurt am Main and the Institute for applied theatre studies of the University of Giessen in the Federation of the Hesse Academy of theater.
